halloween and harvest decor and colors

I abosolutely love this time of year, FALL.  It is colorful, brisk and always changing!

Here are just a few shots of things I have made for the season and colors around our home this year!

Dreaming of a vacation..........

I am so in need of a tropical vacation!  I want to have some of those little drinks with the umbrellas in them and wear shorts all day without shivering!! Oh and the relaxing sounds of the ocean and or island music, I can hear it calling to me........ come here.....come here!!

Right now at this age my kids will be a lot of fun on a vacation to the beach, they love to explore the sand, in some cases eating it (Sawyer would be a must), the water would be an interesting event, I think Ashlee would love it, and Sawyer would get used to it!

Wow I sure hope Santa is listening :)!!!

Pumpkin Carving... what a HARVEST!

My favorite part about the fall and Halloween is the fun get togethers that we have to go to pumpkin patches and pumkin carving parties with family and friends.

Last year was spent at home carving our own pumpkins alone.  That did not go to well with my kids.  As soon as they saw they needed to touch the goowy insides and clean them out, NO way they were done.  So I had to clean and gut all the pumpkins, BLAH!

As I was shopping through Michaels one day I saw they had the hallow carvable pumpkins half off!  Now that is something that Ashlee would carve. So when the invite came from my good friend Patti that she was planning to have a pumpkin carving party this year, it was PERFECT!

My mom cave dream

So I saw this contest to share how you would decorate your own MOM cave area!!!
I would love to win this contest!
My mom cave area is my bedroom... I would love to get all new bedding for my bedroom and also get the farm house bed frame !!

I found the best plan for a bed on she has the cutest bed I want!!!!

So once I have this bed (distressed black)I will then add in some side tables (* I plan to paint the wicker wood combo ones that I own to black distressed also)on each side of the bed and the new bed linens in blues and red!!! some of my most favorite colors.

I have my computer and desk in our bedroom also ... so I new seating area would be great!  I could really use some chairs ... a comfortable desk chair and a sitting chair for reading.
Although I do have all these ideas to upgrade my area... it is my favorite area.

I am able to go here and gettaway, maybe just for a few minutes, but I can go here to read my blog updates or check my emails,  or start a new book ... start a new craft or just write down the craft idea and or scrapbook item or page idea.
I feel like this area helps me create and creating is relaxing for me....this way I am able to get my imagination going and feel like I am getting something done.
Then it is that much easier for me to be able to come back to REALITY... my family, and kids.

After time here to get my few minutes of much needed ME time! Then  I am able to keep going on to the constant cleaning, laundry, diapers changing and picking up after my kids, dog and husband... :)

Thank you for letting me enter this conteset and I sure hope I get a chance at winning!!!

My little peacock and dragon!

This year's Halloween costumes are SO cute I had to get the kids to put them on for a photo run and a practice run to see how they were going to fit.

The fit is great and they are SO cute...

but Sawyer was upset because his costume did not come with a WAND!!

So he had to throw a fit and cry all the while chasing after the WAND....

The Flower Farm in Canby

Today was a field trip to the "Flower Farm in Canby" with my daughter's preschool class.
We got to ride a train and pet the animals; rabbits, goats, mule, and chickens, we got to pick out pumpkins and play in a big straw pyramid.

Ashlee said her favorite part was the pryamid of straw and all the tunnels through the inside.  They played on that for hours.  After all the fun we rode the train back to the shop and had snack out on the pinic tables.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous, 70!  It was a lot of fun.  Glad that I could go!

It was a lot of fun to watch Ashlee interact with her class mates and also how polite she is!

Away from her brother that is. !!!

Jealousy......sibling rivalry...does it end?

The older Sawyer gets the more I see the jealousy show through!!!! How do you stop it? What do you do?

The older one sees that the younger one MIGHT be getting some attention from me or Dad and Boom she interrupts, the younger one sees HER getting one on one attention and he is pulling hair and shoving!

I try to do things one on one with each child and I try to make it equal time.. but it just seems to be getting worse.  And within the last week, my daughter is SO emotional and SO defiant I am not sure what to do?!!

I know just keep going, just keep going and it will get better.. keep letting them know that they are loved.  That is getting pretty hard!

Sibling rivalry!! tiring!

What do you suggest?

Baby sitting for other people is kind of hard, in my opinion.  Everyone has a different way of watching or entertaing their children.

Today we got to watch my nephew.  He is really into cars and likes to play with any kind of car.  I am not used to what little boys like to do, I have a girl and a boy but my boy is jusst now getting to the point where he is starting to show his own likes and really playing with things.  He also has a big sister that is into dolls and cooking and girl stuff... so today was different.

Today Ashlee is at Gma's house entertaining the family there so we are here with the boys....I love to see my son playing with another little boy, they both get into cooking and cars and running around chasing each other.  Too bad my son does not run as fast yet. HA HA..

Hope we get to do some more babysitting and trading of kids soon!  I think it is good for all of them and us too!

Sleep Over

Today is the day!  Ashlee gets to go stay with Grandma and Lisa and Aunt Tami! Yeah! How excited she is.

Ashlee had to earn her night stars to be able to go on this visit.  She barely made it... ten in a row is a lot for her right now...(for those that are not up on the the night star ... Ashlee earns good noodle stars for going to bed and sleeping all night, no waking up and screaming for Dad or mom in the middle of the night).

It has been a long week, but we are now to the day when company is coming to pick up Ashlee.  We have lots to do, breakfast, pack and get ready for their visit.  She gets to go this morning about 10 and not come home until Sunday.

Lets hope she keeps up the good noodle stars at grandma's house too!  Way to go Ashlee!

He did it!!! bedroom wall is DONE!

My husband in very talented and I think I am lucky to have him.  There are many projects that I set out to do, but end up short of doing, they would not get done or even started if it was not for his talent.

This weekend, he started the install of the beadboard on the back wall of our master bedroom!  I picked out some white primed panels and informed him of the look that I was going for and then I was dismissed to watch the kids and let him work.

A couple of hours later, it was my turn to go and assess the situation and look.  ABSOLUTLEY wonderful!  It gives a nice clean bright feeling to my calming master room.  I wanted one wall with a little kick, Yes I got it.

Now for some finishing touches, I am going to paint my brown wood/wicker night stands black and get my hubby working on my new farm bed frame.  A distressed black, yes this is starting to come together!

15 months check up! Look how far he has come?!! :)

Today was Sawyer's 15 month check up.

He grew a whole inch since his last appointment and gained 2 pounds! That put him in the 90 percent for his weight and 80 percent for his height! Yeah!

He had to get three shots today, that kills me.  He had to get poked in both legs and his little fae turned red with screams of OUCH when the shots went in.

Thank goodness for fast recoveries!  He was over it by the time we opened the door to leave the back room! Lolipops make everything better too!

At the last appointment I was worried about Sawyer's development, he was not babbling, talking, walking or eating solid foods.

The Dr told me not to worry then, he will come around.  In the last month Sawyer has hit alot of milestones.  He started saying " DEeDEe" for dad, "DAIZEEe" for the dog, and "nana" for Mom... I hear a few other words here and there but for the most part that is A LOT more than a month ago.

He started Walking, at first it was 4 steps to here then 5 steps to there, now he is going nonstop.  Next he will be running, oh no! He has absolutely NO FEAR, he craws up on everything, he crawls on the chair and then next he was up on top of the table looking out the window! C...R...A...Z...Y!!

It has been a good day, and until the next appointment we will continue to grow! Yeah baby!

beach Retreat, Lincoln City OR

This trip was a much needed get away and booster for me personally!  I got to meet a lot of new people and get to know others that I had barley knew before!  I need that to help boost my confidence.
The ideas and scripts that I recieved from my classes and just being able to practice with application of the products will help me out alot.  I even went outside of my box and tried alot of new products, and Wow! I really liked how they worked!

Since I have been home with my kids I do not get the same interaction with my girlfriends like I did when I was working.  I am lucky if I see any of them once a week now.

Yikes!  I know I thought then wow I will not miss the drama, but I do!

And Sometimes you just need a little time away.  The beach was BEAUTIFUL and very recharging.  I love the time that you get with girlfriends to chat, laugh and giggle!  It makes me feel so young and care free when you can Laugh and Giggle alot!

look are our house?! wow it was gorgeous!

perfect ocean and walk on the beach!

Chocolate!  Carmel Dipped apples too!

I feel so lucky to been able to be a part of this trip and this group of ladies.  I learned alot about myself, Mary Kay, and I have some new friends from it too! Wow thank you all!

Enjoy some of my pictures of the trip.
