My growing girls

Wow!! it's been a month now since my girls moved to their new coop. 

And just At the end of February when they were just little fluff balls. 

My how they have grown ....

The sad part is I'm not real sure what breed they all are. Pretty sure I have a gold sex link and a windott and an ameracuana and I think a black sex link. ???

Guess I'll see when they get all their coloring and start laying.  ;)

Got EgGs??

Finally

after all this waiting our chicks are now chickens?!! (According to Sawyer) who says "they are chickens when they give us eggs".

Tool us all by surprise as we went out to feed and check for eggs (out of the blue Ashlee, asked have they laid eggs yet? Who knew?!! Guess she did!!

 I expect to be collecting LOTS girls ..

 

So get to laying!!

The Sun is out and so it is time for the girls to move out to their new CONDO!!

 they even got brave enough to come down the ramp and check out their new surroundings...

so far so good... until they start scheming their ESCAPE!! lol...

Yep we got Chicks!!... here is a shot or two of our new flock..

 we got a couple breeds... Ameracuana... and Buff Orpingtons...

 kids already named them, Olive, Tulip, Violet, Izzy, and Jake  Lol!!

This week I am really trying to research more about urban farming and what I can grow for my family in my backyard!  there are So many options and great ideas... here are a few of my pins....

Do you garden? what do you like to plant in your garden? 
I love to do lots of veggies... like green beans, zucchini  summer crocked neck squash, tomatoes, radishes, lettuce,peppers, jalapeno peppers oh and I do have some strawberry and raspberry plants!
Love the berries..... I want to try to do more ... like egg plant, artichokes, and of course I would love to get my own chicken coop with a few chickens for fresh eggs and also the added things like fertilizer and composting my table scraps and eating bugs throughout my yard!  Lots of things to think about!  Tell me what you have in your yard!!!
