Farmhouse nightstand

We did it... we finished the little night stand for Ashlee's room.  It is another plan from my favorite site... Ana White....I love her farm house furniture plans and this is another one of those.

We scaled ours down to be a little bit smaller but basically the same... I am also looking around for a different drawer handle.  I want a little ceramic one or a crystal pull knob.

I cannot wait to get into her room!

OLD windows... what can be done with them!

I cannot wait to get some more windows so that I can try making some of these... especially the little greenhouse!!! Wow!!

Xmas Gift: DIY Potting bench

Yes it is that time of year... GIFT making... my sister has been telling me how she would love to have a potting bench but she has a SMALL space to put it in ... So I found some plans for one on my favorite furniture plan site Ana White.com (click the link to take you to the potting bench plans)

Of course it needs to be tweeked a little to work in her SMALL space but at least it is a starting point....oh and I also got this idea to use an old window pane with some sort of knobs (door knobs, metal hooks) for the back of the shelving... (neat huh?) Yeah!

That is how far I am ... oh and my Hubby went out and got some lumber to start.....

He got the two shelves made now just some supports and a little creativity and WOOHHLAAA Done!

It is getting closet to being done....

still looking for something to put on the back of it... an old window pane with some sort of knobs etc.....

Got some new accessories for the bench!!.... LOVE the dragonfly hooks... so will Em!!

Got it finished!!

Now to start with a color... and distressing it...Oh I think a white wash on the wood will LOOK great!!

Oh I hope she likes it... cannot wait to see it in place!

Project....Girls Desk...!!

I have been working on Ashlee's room.... trying to make it more like a little girl's room instead of a toddler... it is a very long process... but I did find these great plans for a desk and hutch...on(press here to see the full directions) Ana White's build you own furniture!!

So far I have the desk and drawer made... and when I say "I" I mean that my husband has made it for me...  I have started the painting process... and yes it is a process because Ashlee wants it to be Pink with a Shabby Chic finish! (ugh ;o))

 This is just the first coat of pink... I have done a coat of white under that too!! Next it is time to Shabby Chic it!

when I get some pictures I will be sure to update and post!

DIY storage bench!

So I have been needing a little bench to put in my laundry room and entry way for a while now.  I have never been able to find the right size! then I saw this Kids bench, on Ana White's website!

I had to do it, and my hubby of course put his little twist onto too!

My talented husband made TWO in just a couple of hours!  Yeah!

I used spray paint to paint them, it is kind of neat because the wood grain still shows through.....

I am not finished yet.... still want to wash it with a dark brown to make it a little darker and then distress it a little!... So far so good!
