Project....Girls Desk...!!

I have been working on Ashlee's room.... trying to make it more like a little girl's room instead of a toddler... it is a very long process... but I did find these great plans for a desk and hutch...on(press here to see the full directions) Ana White's build you own furniture!!

So far I have the desk and drawer made... and when I say "I" I mean that my husband has made it for me...  I have started the painting process... and yes it is a process because Ashlee wants it to be Pink with a Shabby Chic finish! (ugh ;o))

 This is just the first coat of pink... I have done a coat of white under that too!! Next it is time to Shabby Chic it!

This week's rain and dreary cloud cover has made it feel as though FALL is all over us and I was not ready for it yet... so I had to shoot some color and try to brighten things up a little! These are some of my Dahlia blooms. Enjoy!

I found this barn yesterday.... it is so over grown on the sides I could not get a good side shot....

 as we were driving my son yelss "MOOOOOOO...MOOOOOO" and I look and that is NO cow!!!

 it was a herd of BUFFALO! ;o)

FIELD TRIP...BAUMAN FARMS...

Today was our first trip to Bauman Farms in a couple of years... the rain held off and we got on to ride!!
First we visited the little petting barn.....

BARNS??.. I found some!!

MMMmmm. smell of FALL...Apple Butter Recipe...

Crock Pot Apple butter .. ( I found this recipe online at Food.com) I love any kind of fruit butter, pumpkin butter, apple butter, pear butter.  My sis-in-law told me that it is SUPER easy to make....
So if you do not know me that well then you do not know that I DO NOT cook... but I am trying to get out of my rut and try something new.... crock pot ... that sounds easy enough?!!! right?
here is the recipe.. I will tell you how mine turns out when I get finished!

Ingredients
5.5 lbs apples, peeled and finely chopped
4 cups sugar
2-3 teaspoons grd cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon grd cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions
1. place apples in bowl
2. combine sugar,cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
3. Pour over apples and mix well.
4. place in crock pot on high and cover for 1 hour
5. decrease heat to low cover and cook for 9-11 hours or until thick and dark brown
6. stir occasionally
7. uncover and cook on low for 1 hour longer
8. whisk until smooth (if desired)
9. spoon into freezer containers, leave 1/2 inch head space.
10. cover and freeze
