Story of blog names

LIVING with Porteous... that is the name of my blog.  I started writing just after I became a SAHM and needed somewhere to share things about my kids, family and of course a CREATIVE outlet... I love to Craft, and I love VINTAGE... and COUNTRY... 

I often think that I would like to come up with a different name, just because not everyone understands the Porteous...


 but ... it is just that.................... LIVING with Porteous!!

My Idol....

The other night I was watching one of my favorite shows... American Pickers... and guess who was on there!!! Sharon Camarillo!  WOW!  I love her, she is my barrel racing idol.  I took horse clinics from her and used the bits she sold and saddles and and and and.... did I say I LOVED her....?

that just makes me love that show a little more :)... Thanks Mike and Frank for stopping by her Dad's... :)

St Patrick's Day Wreath

I know that Valentine is just now over, but I found this super cute St Patricks Day wreath on Pinterest and I just HAVE to make it!!..

 project by The Magic of Ordinary Things

She has great instructions on how she made this, a wire coat hanger into a circle,  fabric strips 1" x 6" peices of scrap fabric.. and tie around until covered. I used just some wire that we had in the garage... got some great colored fabrics and I also spied these super cute crochet shamrocks on pinterest....

and here is what I came up with....

and here is my wreath..... thanks to Ashlee and Sawyer for helping to tie on the fabric strips :)

 WoooLAAA........... Finished and hung!! LUCKY :o)

The other day I, well Sawyer and I shared a chick drawing that Ashlee had done... We were so proud of it...

well she has been at it again and wow has the quality of her drawings drastically improved...
She has always been talented ... but these are AMAZING...

 that is a Macaw....

and this is SO springy!  Great job!
